You must meet all the prerequisites to be eligible to attend this trip. If the organizer deems it necessary to obtain additional information from you, please provide it, otherwise you will remain on the waiting list. As a potential participant, you must check this trip posting for additional directions from the organizer, including up to trip cancellation.

🌲**Trip Description**
Anyone interested in hiking, car camping in the YK, late Aug to early Sept ?
– most of the planned hikes are difficult, many are off-trail, some involve easy scrambling
– preference given to persons with [OT5, S5](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1EwslsRqLvFp-6anYK_pw_YNLrr94qklcbyZXsv87qs0/edit?tab=t.0) experience

Looking for 1 or more persons to join 3 of us.
– if 1 person, 4th person preferably to fly to Whitehorse on Aug 29 or 30, return Sept 12; will pick up / drop off there
– if > 1 persons, will need a 2nd vehicle (drive from Calgary or rent at Whitehorse if flying)

Note that driving distances are extreme
– 4500km roundtrip Calgary to Whitehorse
– 2300km roundtrip driving within YK (including all options)
Vehicle rental in YK is expensive; most companies either do not allow or restrict driving on the Dempster Hwy (i.e. no Tombstone TP)

Current planned trip dates are
– depart Calgary Aug 27 or 28, drive to Whitehorse
– camp Kluane NP Aug 30 – Sept 3 (4 nights)
– camp Whitehorse area Sept 3-6 (3 nights)
– camp Dawson area Sept 6-7 (1 night)
– camp Tombstone TP Sept 7-11 (4 nights)
– camp Whitehorse area Sept 11-12 (1 night)
– depart Whitehorse Sept 12, drive to Calgary

You may wish to consider staying at a hotel 1+ nights in Whitehorse, 1 night in Dawson.
Note that you could do the Kluane or Tombstone portion of the trip only (if flying); approximate trip duration 1 week.

If we have 6+ people for the trip
– currently, can still book group camping sites at Kluane NP, Tombstone TP
– can change trip dates to (perhaps) 1 week earlier

Please respond, if serious only, by July 19. Query by using the Comment section (below) or by DM (direct messaging).

The event may be cancelled or postponed (on short notice) in the event of poor weather (wind, rain, snow) or poor air quality (smoke).
