Players take turns shooting discs across the circular playing surface\, trying to land their discs in the higher-scoring regions of the board\, while also attempting to knock opposing discs off the board.\n* Music – Sometimes someone will play piano\, sometimes guitar\,\n* Come make friends\, hang out\, and if you like\, feel free to bring your special talent and show off a bit 🙂 \nJames’ house Is 65 Tuscany meadows place nw \nThis is a potluck. Please bring a *favourite* snack/dish to share with others – no need to bring chips or sweets\, we haven’t eaten all the bags of chips and sweets people have brought so far\, so please bring something a bit healthy. Suggestions could be – fruit plate\, vegetable plate\, cheese plate\, appetizers\, sushi\, finger food (I have a microwave and oven and stove)\, hot entree\, pizza or\, even better\, bring something you are famous for making! I supply beverages (soft drinks\, iced tea). \nTransportation:\nSome people need a ride\, some have expressed willingness to provide a ride. Please leave a comment if you want to add your name to either of those two lists and in which neighborhood you live. SUMMARY:Wilderness Area Backpack Overnight OT4
DESCRIPTION:Slow and Steady Hikers\nCataract Pass. 3 days 2 nights. Day 2 will be exploring the area but no scrambles. Random camping. No facilities. You’ll need a bear canister or an ursack for this trip\, camping at open Alpine terrain. No fires allowed. Sign up only if you are firm. Limited spots. Not for slowpokes. Event is being done through hike style. Expect some wet feet creek crossings. I’m known not to stop much. I have a uber light pack. Be prepared to snack drink on the move. \nDistance: Approx 17 Km one way.\nElevation Gain: 800 meters approx one way.\nEvent Pace: 5-6 hr about hike in \nYour backpack should not weigh more than 25 lbs/11.5kg all in\, including food and water. The lighter the better. I have very light pack. \nYou’ll need a National Park pass if you are driving. I’m definitely driving. We’ll be de-camping just after a light breakfast and heading to to a nearby town for lunch after. If you can’t do all activities please don’t sign up. No cell reception where we are going. \nExpect any kind of weather conditions including cold conditions and possible snow on the ground. There will be no shared equipment. You’re expected to be self sufficient. If you’ve never random camped before\, good opportunity to try things out. \nMeal planning: 2 lunch\, 2 dinner and 2 breakfast. *We’ll be stopping over at a nearby town on the way back for lunch.* \nNote withdrawal cut off time. Will need a minimum of three persons for this to be a go else I might as well solo it. *RSVP only if you are firm*. \nThe event host reserves the right to not allow participants on the event if they are not fit enough or are not a fit for the group. \nAny questions let me know. \nRequired equipment:\n– Bear Spray\n– Bear canister or ursack\n– A lightweight backpack and gear. DESCRIPTION:Slow and Steady Hikers\nNose Hill ParkRun is a free\, weekly 5k community event. WALK\, jog\, run\, volunteer or spectate – it’s up to you! It is entirely organised by volunteers. \nWe will meet and greet at 8:30am – Shaganappi Trail NW and Edgemont Drive\, next to the bathroom at the parking lot. The walking event starts every Saturday at 9:00am. We will go at a leisurely pace. Afterwards\, we will grab a post parkrun beverage/snack at the Friends cafe (104-45 Edenwold Drive NW\, Calgary T3A 3S8). \nIt’s free\, but please register with parkrun before you first come along if you want your time recorded. Cross at the lights to enter the car park. \nOn foot: Nosehill parkrun starts next to the car park on Shaganappi Trail opposite Edgemont Boulevard NW Calgary. \nBy road: From the Alberta Highway 201 (Stoney Trail) turn south onto Shaganappi trail and go straight on through the Country Hills Blvd traffic lights up the hill towards Nose Hill Park. Cox Hill’s proper name is Cocks-comb Hill\, named after its fringe of a summit rock by surveyor A.O. Wheeler who climbed it in 1895 \nThe Stoney/Nakoda have their own name\, which is Zotha Odabi Baha \, that translates as ‘many marmots hill’. \nThe trail offers views of Moose Mountain\, Hunchback Hills\, and the Kananaskis range of mountains. \nParticipation is not first come first served and is at the discretion of the organizer. Attendees will be selected based on their suitability to fit with the group\, however\, please note that I am unable to accommodate everyone. If you have not hiked with me before\, I may contact you for additional information. \nOur end time is a guess at best. It is impossible for me to predict how long a hike will take as it depends on the speed of the group\, the number of stops we make\, etc. If you need to be back at a specific time\, it may be best to sit this one out. \nDistance: Approx 13 kms\nElevation Gain: about 730 meters \nPhysical Difficulty: T3 – Intermediate \nEvent Pace: Slow . DESCRIPTION:Slow and Steady Hikers\nIn the month of August\, I am riding in the Great Cycle Challenge for kid’s cancer. https://greatcyclechallenge.ca/Riders/ToniPalmer \nALL BIKES ARE WELCOMED – SLOW PACE. \nI chose my goal to pedal 1\,000 km throughout the month of August. Most of these rides I will be doing alone\, but it would be nice to have company for some of them. Nose Hill Park\, from the Brisbois/John Laurie Blvd entrance parking lot\, to Creekside Shopping Centre\, is approximately a 40km round trip\, using the pathways. This is a half a day event. I will be stopping off to eat and for bathroom breaks. \nThe length of the trip will be determined by weather\, bike conditions\, speed and the length of the pit stops.
