SUMMARY:Bike Ride : Mattamy Greenway
DESCRIPTION:Slow and Steady Hikers\nCalgary is home to more than 1000km of dedicated bike pathways. As cyclists\, we’ve set out countless times to discover new routes\, yet it always feels like there’s another trail waiting to be explored.\nThis time\, why not ride the Mattamy Greenway? We’ll start from the Renfrew Off-Leash Park parking lot and head east before following the Greenway all the way around to the west side\, creating a scenic loop.\nMany cyclists have tackled the Greenway in different ways. Some complete the entire 150 km city loop\, while others follow the popular Green Loop. We’ve already explored sections in several directions\, but this ride will complete another piece of the puzzle—our northern loop\, traveling from east to west along the Mattamy Greenway. \n🌲 Distance: The ride will be approximately **40–60 km round trip**\, depending on the group’s pace\, preferences\, and the weather. Please be prepared for the maximum distance of **up to 60 km** to ensure you’re ready for the full ride.\n🌲 Elevation gain: about 300-350 meters\n🌲 Time: 5 – 6 hours\, depending on group size and number of participants\n🌲 Group Size: 8-10 (No dogs\, children or guests)\n🌲 Required gear:\n– bike\n– helmet\n– water\n– lunch / snacks\n– hat / gloves\n– technical clothing (no cotton\, no jeans)\n– rain coat\n🌲 Suggested gear:\n– spare inner tube\, patch kit and pump\n– sunscreen\n– personal first aid kit\n🌲 Signup\nA waiting list has been created. SUMMARY:Sherbrooke Lake & Beyond - (T3) **EXPLORATORY**
DESCRIPTION:Slow and Steady Hikers\nBeyond Sherbrooke Lake is an alpine adventure many hikers never experience. I’ve hiked to the lake before\, but this time we’ll go a bit farther to see several waterfalls\, wildflower-filled meadows\, and not to mention stunning mountain views. The plan is to reach the Niles Amphitheatre\, with about 600 m of elevation gain. If conditions\, time\, and the group’s energy allow\, we may continue to Niles Col for even better views. We will not be climbing Mt. Niles. As this is an exploratory hike\, your patience and understanding would be greatly appreciated. \nIt is a requirement to read the following trip posting very carefully and to make the proper and responsible preparations for it. Failure to do so\, will result in participant not bring allowed on this trip or removal from trip at the organizers discretion. You must answer all questions. Players take turns shooting discs across the circular playing surface\, trying to land their discs in the higher-scoring regions of the board\, while also attempting to knock opposing discs off the board.\n* Music – Sometimes someone will play piano\, sometimes guitar\,\n* Come make friends\, hang out\, and if you like\, feel free to bring your special talent and show off a bit 🙂 \nJames’ house Is 65 Tuscany meadows place nw \nThis is a potluck. Please bring a *favourite* snack/dish to share with others – no need to bring chips or sweets\, we haven’t eaten all the bags of chips and sweets people have brought so far\, so please bring something a bit healthy. Suggestions could be – fruit plate\, vegetable plate\, cheese plate\, appetizers\, sushi\, finger food (I have a microwave and oven and stove)\, hot entree\, pizza or\, even better\, bring something you are famous for making!
