SUMMARY:Skoki Loop
DESCRIPTION:Slow and Steady Hikers\nI’m organizing a fall trip into the Skoki region to enjoy the larches\, explore Skoki Pass\, and spend two nights at backcountry campgrounds. This outing is suitable for strong\, moderate‑to‑fast‑pace hikers who are comfortable with full packs and steady elevation gain. \nI have reserved two camping pads:\n– Merlin Meadows – October 2\n– Baker Lake – October 3 \nOur primary goal is to experience the pass and the larch colours\, but if time and conditions permit\, we may also ascend one or more nearby peaks within the Skoki area. \n📌 Goal: Explore Skoki Pass\, enjoy the larches\, and complete optional nearby ascents if time allows. \nPace & Ability Requirements:\nThis trip is for hikers who can ascend around 400 meters per hour with a backpack. Some light scrambling may be involved depending on optional objectives. \n🕖 Departure:\nWe will leave Calgary on Friday\, October 2 at 9:00 AM from Valley Ridge. The exact meeting point will be shared closer to the date. \n🎒 Gear Requirements:\n– 🥾 Sturdy\, high‑ankle hiking boots\n– 🧥 Layered clothing suitable for variable fall weather\n– 💧 At least 3 liters of water or equivalent liquids\n– 🎒 Overnight backpacking gear suitable for two nights \n🚗 Rides & Carpooling:\nPlease indicate whether you can offer a ride or need a ride. If you are offering a ride\, ensure your vehicle is reliable and has enough space for passengers and overnight gear. Sharing gas costs with the driver is appreciated. \n🌦️ Weather:\nWe will monitor the weather forecast as the date approaches and make a final decision accordingly. \n📄 Action Required:\nPlease reply with your last two hiking or scrambling experiences\, including:\n– Route name\n– Estimated time of completion\n– Pace and elevation gain details (if known) \n👥 Group size is limited to four participants. \nLooking forward to a beautiful autumn adventure in Skoki.
