DESCRIPTION:Slow and Steady Hikers\n6 days of paddle and camp on Murtle Lake in Wells Grey Park. I have canoes rented for 6 people ( 3 Canoes ) 2 people per canoe\, no need to take own own. We will camp the night before at Blue River. On July 20 we drive up the the Murtle lake ( 30 minutes ) parking lot and load our gear into carts and portage to the lake 2.5 Kms easy trail. we have to be at the lake by around 10:00.\nThere are no roads to the lake\, no cabins\, no power boats\, This is the largest paddle only lake in North America\, Rentals include paddles\, life jackets Ext. There are 17 camp grounds along the lake. Whits sand beaches and out houses at each site. this is a paddle and camp for 5 nights and 6 days\, we return by 11:00 on the last day. any questions call 778-479-9033The cost is aprox $220. DESCRIPTION:Slow and Steady Hikers\nI have been posting more challenging hikes the past few weeks after many months off\, as I get stronger. I have started limiting my hikes to people I have hiked with before. This is due to super fast hikers signing up and running ahead of the group\, super slow hikers signing up and making the group wait for them and a few hikers who can’t seem to get along with anyone or follow the rules\, making it an uncomfortable hike for everyone. I am a volunteer. This is supposed to be fun and safe for everyone! \nSo! I’m posting a Thursday evening hike at Glenbow Ranch for everyone. Beginners\nand experienced hikers welcome. Regardless of your speed and experience\, I expect you to show up prepared\, get along with others\, and hike at the pace of the group. No running ahead or asking to change the route. \nThere will be a minimum of four and maximum of 12 hikers. \nThe route has not yet been decided\, but it may be on pavement\, dirt trails\, open\, and treed\, flat\, and with some hills. We will hike for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours (7-9:30 or 10pm). \nBetween 5 and 11km with some elevation gain\, especially near the end. \nParticipation in this hike might get you on some hikers that I have posted for those I have hiked with before\, but it is not a guarantee. \nA waiting list has automatically been created to determine this trip’s suitability for you as a potential participant. The organizers will be checking your hike history to determine your ability to complete this trip. If the organizer deems it necessary to obtain additional information from you\, please provide it\, otherwise\, you will remain on the waiting list. \nAndy Bell’s German Shepherd\, Jasmine\, will likely be on this hike\, on a leash at all times. She is an experienced hiker and does not chase pikas\, marmots\, deer or bears. She is very friendly. Unfortunately\, no other dogs allowed on the hike. \nBackpack must include 2 liters of water\, first aid kit\, medications\, toilet kit\, snacks\, and layers for all weather conditions. Good hiking books are required. Poles are optional. A positive attitude\, love of nature\, and sense of humour are also recommended. 🙃 \nBearspray is recommended. We will hike without headlamps\, but you may bring one in your backpack. Please bring a backpack. \nAll participants are expected to read the Slow and Steady Waiver and Code of Conduct. You must sign the waiver at the trailhead to participate. You will need the name and phone number of an emergency contact.
