Troll Falls, Marmot Falls
Slow and Steady Hikers
**Troll Falls and Marmot Falls**, relaxed pace
This is a popular trip to a number of beautiful waterfalls located in Kananaskis Valley. After hiking to Troll Falls, we will continue up to Marmot Falls and will see a total of four waterfalls during the trip. On the way back, we will use the Hay Meadows Trail, where we will visit the site of the Golden Eagles count. (This group monitors the flight of golden eagles during the spring and fall as they migrate.)
The pace will be relaxed and will allow plenty of time to enjoy the falls and take photos. The trip will be about 6 km round trip with an elevation gain of about 100 meters. The group size will be limited to eight people. Everyone needs to hike together as a group.

**Trailhead:** From Calgary, drive west on the TransCanada until the Kananaskis turnoff (Highway 40). Continue until you see a signed turn-off to Nakiska Ski Resort and Kananaskis Village. Turn right and continue for about a km until you see the Stoney Trailhead parking lot. Meet at the trailhead which is near the north end of the parking lot.
**Carpooling**: You can use the Comments section to arrange carpooling. As I don’t live in Calgary, I will meet you at the trailhead. The suggested carpooling fee is $15.
**Passes:** You will need a Kananaskis Pass for this trip.
**Essential gear**: Please bring bear spray; lunch, and lots of water.
**Waiver**: The Slow and Steady Rules of Conduct and the Waiver are in effect. You will be asked to sign the waiver at the trailhead.
