**Join us in celebrating Jill K’s ??th birthday.** She has helped others enjoy their birthdays and now its time for her to be with friends and be “roasted”.
This hike in Kootenay National Park has a bit of everything: a good workout including a dramatic glacier approach surrounded by cliffs, through a beautiful hanging valley with towering vertical cliffs and waterfalls, a glacier, and fossils. With this being a National Park you can see things, you can touch it, handle it but must leave it.
It is a requirement to read the following trip posting very carefully as there is some mild exposure and to make the proper and responsible preparations for it. Failure to do so, will result in participant not allowed on this event. As a potential participant, you must check this trip posting for additional directions from the organizer, including up to trip cancellation.
A waiting list has automatically been created to determine this trip’s suitability for you as a potential participant. You must meet all the prerequisites (includes correctly answering the RSVP question and a hiking history) to be eligible to attend. If the organizer deems it necessary to obtain additional information from you, please provide it, otherwise, you will remain on the waiting list.

🌲Event Pace: A safe pace both up and down – not a photographer's pace. In other words as fast as the slowest one of us. for the group to stay in sight of each other.
RESTRICTIONS: No dogs, no children, no guests.
🌲**Mandatory Gear & Attitude:**
• Remember that we plan for the worst and will take the rest – no bad weather only wrong clothing.
• Personal First Aid Kit & toiletry kit
• Appropriate layer clothing to deal with wind, cool autumn temps and/or drizzle/snow (no cotton )
• Sturdy hiking alpine footwear, approach shoes or boots to deal with scrambling, traversing and scree.
• Bear spray
• **Hydration** (1L, no water source on trail.)
• food/snacks/drink (hot/cold or both)
• Bag for your dirty boots/wet shoes
• **Positive attitude**
• We hike as a group and we must stay in sight of each other.

• Trekking poles, icers, gloves & gaiters
• Sunglasses/goggles (polarized recommended)
• Sunscreen lotion
• Camera
